Dr. Barry Burns has been in full time ministry for over 30 years, the entirety of which has been dedicated to one vision, the ministry of Cornerstone Church of Johnson City, Tennessee, of which he and his wife, Ann are founders. He is most noted for his strength as pastor, as well as, teacher and preacher of the Word of God. He is an example of a true New Testament pastor, as his tireless commitment to the Body of Christ demonstrates. His influence spans several generations. From grandparents needing a pastoral word to the child needing a pastoral touch, Pastor Barry is ever ministering to the needs of others. From rich spiritual insights to invaluable practical application, he is highly skilled in communicating the Gospel. For over three decades, he has labored to equip the Body at Cornerstone Church for victorious Christian living. He is an example to them in the practice of honor, integrity and faith.

Under his leadership, Cornerstone Church has been making its mark in the world and continues to flourish as a remarkable testimony to the faithfulness of God to His Word. Cornerstone’s ministry crosses generational barriers, and has earned the distinction of genuinely serving people of all ages and from all walks of life.

Dr. Burns is known as a leader in the present day charismatic movement and in the community as well. He was the pioneer National Director of International Convention of Faith Ministries, serving to lay the foundation of an international network of ministries extending into nearly every nation of the earth. He served as President of Johnson City’s Kiwanis Club 2000-2001, where he remains an active member, working every year with the annual science fair. Dr. Burns received his Bachelor of Science degree from East Tennessee State University in 1972. He earned a Master’s degree in Ministry in 1986, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree in 1989, both from Bethany Theological Seminary. Dr. Burns has been married to his wife, Ann Hutchinson Burns for 34 years. Their growing family consists of Jonathan, 30, his wife Kristina 28, Andrew, 27, his wife Jamie 26, Julianna, 23 her husband Shane, 23 and their newborn son Hutchinson.
